Welcome

Elaine M... "I just wanted to say I am very happy with my outcome from having laser surgery on my gums... I have always had bleeding gums as far back as I can remember. It has been a year since I had the treatment an my gums had not bled at all!! I can actually bite into an apple and there is NO blood. I am very happy with this and would highly recommend the laser treatment to friends, co-workers and family Thank you again!"

Bacteria from the mouth build up between the teeth and gums.  When these bacteria multiply and irriation in the gum can let these bacteria enter the blood stream. When they are in the blood stream, they can travel throughout the body. Inflammation occurs but sometimes the body's defense mechanism fall short.

Stroke

A study of fatty deposits in the carotid arteries of stroke sufferers shows that 70% contain bacteria and 40% of that bacteria comes from the mouth.

Diabetes (pancreas)

Diabetics with gum disease are also more likely to have heart disease than those without gum disease.  Recent studies also show a relationship of gum disease to pancreatic cancer.

Heart Disease

Bacteria in combination with the blood-clotting cells called platelets form a clump that travels through the blood stream. These groups of bacteria and platelets irritate vessel walls and may promote the formation of blood clots that can damage the heart. Inflammation also produces a protein that can irritate the interior of blood vessels creating sites where fatty deposits can form.

Spontaneous pre-term births

Women with gum disease are 7 to 9 times more likely to give birth prematurely to low birth-weight babies. Researchers believe that the low-grade infection causes damaged cells to release inflammation-causing substances that have been linked with pre-term birth.

The information above is based on article that was published in USA Today.

Mill OnlayThanks to a compouter driven piece of high technology called a CEREC. Dr. George is able to fashion tooth-colored porcelain onlays and crowns at the same appointment that your tooth is prepared.

This means no impressions- just a laser scan of your prepared tooth, no temporaries to fall off, no second visits and, best of all, no second injections.

CEREC allows Dr. George to get you in and out of the office in a single visit which means less time out of your busy schedule.

With CEREC in Dr. George's hands you can have a beautiful, functional restoration in one visit, often in about one hour.
