Periolase®
The
Periolase Laser from Millennium Dental Technologies represents the latest
in dental laser technology. It is the only laser designed
to perform Laser Periodontal Therapy®.
What this means for you is that periodontal therapy (gum disease treatment) can now be treated without the need for conventional gum surgery.
CariFree
The CariScreen Caries Susceptibility Test is a simple 1-minute chair-side bacterial test for assessing patients’ caries risk. The patent pending CariScreen uses ATP bioluminescence to identify oral bacterial load and has been proven to correlate with patients’ risk for decay.

CEREC
Cerec
technology allows Dr. George to fabricate your new beautiful porcelain crown
(cap) in about one hour while you wait. For you that means fewer trips to
the dentist, no temporary crowns to fall off and no second shot of anesthesia.
Digital Radiography
Digital radiography is just a fancy way to say computerized x-rays. While
the technology has been available for a while it is now just becoming practical
for the more progressive dental office. Computerized x-rays use a computer
to capture the image rather than film. The image then is displayed
on a computer screen for the Dr. and patient to view together. What
this means for you is that the patient can take a more active roll in discussing
treatment because the dentist can point out the areas of concern much more
easily. Also, probably even more significant for the patient is that
the x-ray can be taken with much less radiation
exposure as compared to film. As you can see on the chart dental x-rays never posed a potential risk, but with digital radiography
any thought of risk is all but eliminated.
t-scan
Cracked or broken teeth are a situation everyone wants to avoid. There are several causes for this but one of the main reasons could be your bite, or in other words how your teeth come together. You see when teeth don’t fit together properly there is a good chance that one or two teeth will be taking on more force than the others. The results of this can be many problems such as cracked or broken enamel, TMJ pain, headaches, even bone loss around the teeth. When teeth fit together properly, we prevent much of this..
Until now we have never had a truly accurate way to measure and record your bite. But
an innovative, high tech sensing device called the T-Scan has been developed which enables us to measure and if necessary adjust your bite. The result is a harmonious bite where all the teeth contact at the same time with near equal force so one tooth is not taking on more pressure than another. Makes perfect sense.
Diagnodent
One
of the most important services a dentist can perform is detect a new cavity
in a tooth at its earliest stages. That is why the dentist used the “pick” (explorer)
to search the grooves of the teeth for “soft spots”. Until
recently the explorer was the only tool dentists had to find this decay. In
many cases the decay was undetectable with the explorer until it was so large
that it necessitated a shot of Novocain and an extensive filling to repair.
A few years ago Dr. George invested in the newest laser technology to aid in finding these cavities before they became this large. This tool is called the diagnodent. This device uses a special laser light to painlessly reach within the tooth and measure the amount of decay. What this means for you is that cavities can be discovered at the earliest times with out the use of x-rays and in most cases be taken care of without having to get a shot of anesthesia. This allows the dentist to place the smallest filling possible preserving much more of the natural tooth.
Hi-tech Sterilization
In
order to insure your safety and provide the most sterile
instrumentation possible Dr. Geroge's office uses the latest sterilization
methods. All autoclable instruments are sterilized in the Statim
5000 autoclave by SciCan Technologies (pictured here). This
is the latest in steam sterilization technology. It is the type all
hospitals use to sterilize their surgical instruments. Instruments that
cannot be placed in the autoclave (plastic) are disposed of immediately after
use.
